Well the first service has happened and I must admit that it was quite a surreal experience! A great deal of praying, listening, planning, and hard work by so many and then to see it happening was simply wonderful, and yes, surreal! It was a great day and it was wonderful to welcome many old friends and new.
It is incredible to think that we are less than three weeks away from starting the Church in Morristown. This has been talked and prayed about for over two years. Eight months ago a group met together to read the Word, to Pray and to seek God’s will for this Church plant. It is only in the last few months that we have taken tangible steps to move forward, and God has moved us on swiftly.
All through this journey we have been clear on the goal, although we have only seen clearly one step at a time. I have been regularly reminded of Proverbs 16:9
In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.
I pray that the Church grows and moves forward, reaching the community of Morristown. I pray that we will continue to read the Word, to Pray, and to seek God’s will, seeing clearly each step that the LORD determines for us!
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
It seems that every year life gets busier, crazier and more demanding. We blink and a week goes by, and we are not sure what happened. The reality is that for the majority of people, deep in our hearts we all crave the opportunity to rest, to get off the tread mill of life and step back and figure it all out. Fundamentally we all want to live a life of meaning, we want to make a difference in this world, we want to be able to look back and know that what we did with our lives was good.
As a new Church in Morristown, it is our heart to meet the needs of the community. To help them practically and spiritually, to help them find rest. One of the ways we are looking to do this is by helping people answer the question, “Is there more to life than this?“. Check out our website for more information.
