Lead Pastor: John Laughlin
Pastor John is passionate and committed to God’s work, and has a lot of fun while he’s at it. He has been a pastor since 1989 and has spent most of his career right here in Lancaster County. John has a BS in Finance from Shippensburg University, a Master of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary, and a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy.
John has been happily married for 25 years to Amy and together they have three wonderful children; Emily, a 6th grade teacher, Megan, a junior at York College, and Alex, an 12th grader at Penn Manor High School. They share their home with a cat and dog. Outside the church you may see John on the sidelines at a soccer game or riding on his bike.
Teaching Pastor: Bruce Heydt
Bruce Heydt graduated from West Chester State College in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. For the first 23 years of his professional life he pursued a career in publishing and his articles have appeared in magazines such as British Heritage, Country Journal, American History Illustrated, Historic Traveler, and Christian History & Biography, as well as Reader’s Digest Books.
In 2005 Bruce left the publishing business to join the staff of Millersville Community Church. He serves as Teaching Pastor, Director of Adult Discipleship Ministries, and Outreach Director. He preaches each week at MCC’s three campuses, as well as at the monthly service of prayer and healing. He leads several small group studies each year and is active in the Penn Manor Homes of Hope Ministry, as well as many other Millersville Community Church service ministries. Bruce lives in Mount Joy with his wife Susan.
Youth Pastor: Jacob Marino
Jacob Marino has been doing an amazing job as our youth pastor since 2014. Jacob graduated from Lancaster Bible College with a degree in Sports management and is completing a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Ministry. He has a big passion for impacting young men and women for Christ and supporting them as they grow in faith. Jacob’s life’s verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 which says “Trust the Lord with all thy heart and lean not on thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and He will direct thy path.” Jacob says, “I am excited to be a part of the Millersville Community Church family and look forward to serving in the youth ministry.”
Young Adult Pastor: Ed Weber
Ed Weber serves as our missionary to the students at Millersville University. Ed graduated from Lancaster Bible College with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries and has been working with youth and young adults for over 20 years. Ed is on a journey of re-centering his life to the ways and teachings of Jesus and is excited to continue this mission as a part of the Millersville Community Church family.
