Our Growth Groups offer members and guest the opportunity to join together for study and personal enrichment in a format tailored for today’s busy schedules. Most of our short-term growth groups meet for between 4-8 weeks, although some may require a longer commitment. Many of these studies are offered repeatedly, so those interested in participating may join a group at their own convenience. In addition to the studies listed below, we also frequently offer once-and-done study opportunities that cover a broad range of topics, from managing personal finances to exploring key doctrines of the Bible.
Disciple Bible Study
Disciple is based on the premise that the Bible is the key to renewal in the church and maturity on the part of every Christian. During this 34-week study, participants explore the Bible from Genesis through Revelation, reading about 70% of the entire Bible along the way. Disciple calls on persons to submit themselves to examination by scripture, place themselves under the power of the Holy Spirit, and be transformed by God’s word.
The ALPHA Course
ALPHA is for everyone interested in finding out more about the fundamentals of the Christian faith. It is especially well-suited for newcomers to the church and Christians who want to brush up on the basics. It explores key questions, such as: what is the meaning of life? What happens when we die? Who Is Jesus? And how and why should I read the Bible?
God has designed each of us for a purpose, and equipped us to accomplish the work he created us for. The SHAPE program is designed to help members and guests identity their own special talents and prepare them for service in the name of Christ.
It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. That’s the reason for GriefShare, a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. Each GriefShare session includes a DVD seminar with real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours. After viewing the DVD, you’ll participate in a small group discussion about what you’ve seen on the video.
Our Women’s Ministry offers a variety of Bible studies that seek to understand scripture from a women’s point of view and to apply its lessons to the challenges women face in their everyday lives. Our small group for moms recognizes the incomparably important role mothers play in holding families together, and provide a venue for studies aimed at parenting skills, balancing families and careers, etc. At the same time, our moms groups represent a much-needed opportunity for stressed-out parents to set aside “me time” that provides refreshment, relaxation, and relationships. Notable among our educational programs for woman are frequent opportunities to participate in the popular Beth Moore women’s Bible studies and a wide variety of other women’s bible studies. In addition to our Women’s study groups we also have women’s breakfast groups that gather regularly for fellowship.
