Disciple Bible Study
What does God’s word have to say about forgiveness? Where can you find insights about Jesus in the Old Testament? Where’s the best place to hide if you’re afraid of the Midianites? What did God so want you to know about himself and his plans for you that he inspired godly men throughout history to write it down for your benefit?
Find the answers to these questions and many more this coming September by enrolling in our latest Disciple I Bible Study. Disciple is an intensive 34-week survey of the entire Bible. (Participants will actually read about 70% of God’s Word during the course of the study.) The program combines daily reading assignments with a weekly group session where participants will have a chance to dig deeper, ask questions, and learn from Bible experts via video presentations.
This is a challenging study calling for a commitment to spend time each day in the Bible, but those who are willing will emerge with a solid grasp of God’s direct revelation. Every Christ follower needs to know who we are, who God is, and how he wants us to relate to him. This is the study that provides all three!
The group will be jointly led by Bruce Heydt and Rich Hill. The weekly group sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings. The cost of materials is $40. (Some financial assistance is available for those who need it.) More details will be provided throughout the summer in your worship bulletins and on the church website at MCchurch.org, but if you already know you’d like to be a part of the group, contact Bruce at email@example.com.
The Armor of God
All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. An enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny.
But his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. If you want to build up your defenses, then The Armor of God study is for you.
The Enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion. The Armor of God, more than merely a biblical description of the believer’s inventory, is an action plan for putting it on and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory.

Financial Peace University
Millersville Community Church recently wrapped up its first Financial Peace University program. This course, aimed at teaching sound and godly financial management skills, has gained nationwide acclaim in recent years, and for good reason. My initial group of just nine participants, consisting mostly of non-members, collectively paid off more than $10,000 of debt during just the nine-weeks we met together, while accumulating $4,600 in savings! You could achieve similar results if you have the discipline to follow Dave Ramsey’s proven strategy.
Millersville Community Church is currently planning to follow up our first-time success by offering a second session of Financial Peace University. Times and dates have not yet been set and will in part depend upon the level of interest. So if these results sound exciting to you and you’d like to join in the savings, contact Bruce Heydt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In Financial Peace University, Dave Ramsey and his teaching team walk you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more. Local classes are made up of small groups of people who live in your area and are a great way to share ideas, be encouraged, and stay motivated. Classes meet for nine weeks and are led by a volunteer coordinator. One Financial Peace University membership per family is all you need to get started in a class. Registration costs $100, so this is no small commitment, but it will pay for itself many times over. I also hope to be able to offer some financial support to families who are unable to pay the full cost.
This program is especially valuable for newlyweds and recent grads, but it’s never too late to start managing money more wisely. Look for more details as our plans firm up. If you know you are interested, please get in touch and suggest some convenient times and dates. We want to do our best to accommodate your schedule.
