The Mission of the Grace Cancer Care Ministry is to provide spiritual, emotional, household care, and informational support to a person or family experiencing a cancer struggle in the Grace and Penn Manor community.

Volunteer Positions: Prayer/Spiritual Support, Assessor, Card Ministry, Prayer Shawl, Cleaning, Grief Support, Minor Home Repair, Seasonal Lawn Care, Laundry Service, Homework Helpers, Insurance, Meals, Personal Record Keeping, Pet Services, Respite Service, Spiritual Friend, Tech Support, Transportation
Training: We provide training in two areas for all volunteers–Communicating with Compassion & Cancer Myth Busters. For areas like Greif Support and Spiritual Support we utilize Grace UMC’s existing training by Peggy Manning. All volunteers going into a family’s home will require a current background check.
Time Commitment: Whatever your heart and schedule can give. 2 hours a week, weekends, 4 hours a week, more if you like. It depends upon the number of families we are serving and on your own schedule.
Equipment Needed: Varies according to the service you volunteer for. Nothing specific.
