The Luke 19 Project is an occasional fundraising ministry undertaken in cooperation with, and for the benefit of, our ministry partner Glad Tidings India. Glad Tidings is dedicated to the spread of the Gospel throughout the country of India by planting churches led by indigenous missionaries. Each Luke 19 Project that we undertake is aimed at funding the cost of at least one new plant, costing $3,600. Over the past ten years, MCC has underwritten the cost of nine church plants.
During the Project we invite the entire congregation to live out Jesus’ parable from the 19th chapter of Luke, in which a landowner leaves each of his servants with some money to invest on his behalf, and then returns to see how fruitful each servant has been.
We give $10 to each willing member to use as “seed money.” Members are challenged to invest their monetary gift in supplies, advertising, etc. to start their own fundraising project.

Volunteer Positions: Each time we announce a new Luke 19 effort, the entire congregation is offered the opportunity to participate. It is, however, completely voluntary. Participants may work individually or in groups to raise money any way they choose. Volunteers are also sometimes sought to help with publicity and communication during the campaign.
