Wheels to Worship is a shuttle service offered to worshipers who wish to attend our Sunday services, but who are unable to drive or don’t have a car of their own. Transportation is provided via the church van, which has limited capacity, so the service is provided on a first come, first served basis. Due to the needs of MCC’s various other ministries, the van will sometimes not be available on Sunday morning. We will do our best to let riders know in advance when this is the case.
Contact: Jill Billman
Volunteer positions: Volunteers are needed to drive the church van on Sunday mornings, as well as to help riders enter and exit the van.
Training: No training is required, but volunteers must have a valid drivers licence and fill out a safety and background checklist before serving.
Time Commitment: Volunteers typically serve just one Sunday per month. We currently operate our shuttle service solely between Grace Campus and Millersville Manor apartments, a distance of only several blocks. As additional riders request service, the route may increase slightly.
Equipment Required: The church van is available on Most Sunday mornings. Volunteers are not required to provide their own vehicle. On occasion, however, we may ask for volunteers to use their personal vehicles to pick up a rider who either is not able to enter and exit the van, or who lives in an out-of-the way spot.
