John 13:18-30 (Dec 2nd)

I apologize for the past couple of days where the readings have been missing - sorry!

As we enter the month of December our minds are quickly drawn to Christmas, and we can focus on that later in the month!  But for now, lets continue to reflect on the ultimate outcome of that first Christmas, looking at the last days of the Christ.

What hits me as I read this passage is the obedience of Jesus to the call of His Father despite the “emotional roller coaster” He must be experiencing.  He has been living, teaching, laughing and crying with these men for three years now.  Nurturing them and preparing them for what they are about to face, yet one will betray him.  The words on the page barely convey the emotional pain that Jesus must have felt as he confronted Judas.  We have all had people hurt us, but Judas was about to initiate His death sentence.  Yet Jesus listens to the Spirit of God, and takes the next step that God is calling Him to.
