John 13:31-38 (Dec 3rd)
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.“
To be honest I feel like I fail at this before I even start. How do I love someone else, as Jesus loves me? I cannot but I can try. I cannot but I can allow God to work through me to love others. I cannot but by the power of the Spirit God can. I am learning more and more that I need to listen to God’s Spirit, and respond, even if it is inconvenient, does not make sense or takes me out of my comfort zone.
Then and only then, in the strength that only He provides can I begin to attempt to live out this “New Commandment”.
