2 MINUTES OF TRUTH WITH PASTOR BRUCE
RESPONSE:
READ JAMES 3:16-17
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training, in righteousness, so that a servant of God may be totally equipped for every good work.”
LIVING WITH PURPOSE
RESPONSE:
Think about how much time you spend on social media and compare it to the time you spend in actual face-to-face conversations. How does it match up? Zoom Meetings, Facebook & SnapChat Streaks can be a good tool to stay connected to others, but it is such a shallow form of connection compared to what we can have in-person. Each moment of our life is a precious gift, given to us by our Creator. So what are we doing with the gifts we have been given today?
BELIEVING THE TRUTH.
BELOW ARE 4 IMPORTANT TRUTHS. READ EACH TRUTH & THE SCRIPTURE THAT AFFIRMS THAT TRUTH IN JESUS.

WORSHIP DEVOTIONAL
BY: ABBY HUDSON (WORSHIP LEADER)
If you tuned in to our live worship session on Wednesday, hopefully you remember this one! The song “Graves Into Gardens” has a very special meaning to me. The other week, I briefly talked about how one of the biggest questions we as Christians get from non-Christians is: if your God is so good and can do anything like you say, how come bad things happen to good people in the world? As Christians, we don’t always genuinely know the answer. We know from Scripture that we live in a fallen world. We know that God works in all things for good (see Romans 8:28). We know that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). But we don’t know specific how and why answers, and I think that’s okay. God is so vast, so powerful, and just so darn good that it’s impossible for us humans, who are far below Him, to comprehend Him to the fullest. One of the most basic fundamentals of the Christian faith, or of any faith believing in a higher deity, is just that; it’s faith. Faith, as pertaining to religion and spiritual practice, is defined as “strong belief in God or in the doctrines of religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.” That’s right. We do not have PROOF of a God, we have FAITH in a God. During these uncertain times in our world, we must understand and be able to communicate to others that faith in God to do as He always does, to work in all things for good, is more important than the specific how and why answers. It is not God’s will for people to die in a global pandemic. Like I said, we live in a fallen world that Satan can get his hand on. But Christ and His victory will have the final word, always (see John 19:28-30)..
This song screams blind faith to me. It is a declaration that God will do exactly as He said He would. He will turn graves into gardens, beauty from ashes, and bones into armies. Jesus’ followers had faith that He would rise from the dead in three days, just as He said He would. Likewise, we as Christians need to have faith that God will work through these times. We don’t know how Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead, or how He healed so many who were blind and sick, or how he fed 5,000 people with some bread and fish. We also don’t know specifically how Jesus rose from the dead Himself. We know all this was a work of God, but specifics? We don’t know. All we have faith in and know is that He did all these things, and that He is real and present in our lives. We need to have faith that He will come and piece our world back together, and demonstrate that in our words and actions as the Church (capital C church, not the church building)!
I have faith that God will turn these graves into gardens, and I hope you will be encouraged by my words, by this song, and most importantly, by God’s promises.
